Commander News

I am honored to have been elected as your new Commander, and I look forward to meeting and working with each of you. Members like you, patrons, the community, and the officers before me, have built this Post to be the reputable, respected, successful Post that it is today. I will work to do everything I can to continue this Post’s legacy, in keeping with its traditions, and also building new ones.

As everyone this day in age knows, we all have more on our plate than we maybe should. Between family events, friends, work, and other organizations that we are a part of, it’s difficult to prioritize and make time for everything….still I ask you this. If you haven’t been too involved lately, try to make some time. Plan a dinner with a fellow veteran or friend and come in for supper, or bring them to see a band (every Friday and Saturday.) Enjoy some comradery with Bingo or Euchre. Come to a floor meeting and learn/relearn everything that our organization is involved in, and ways that you could help our Veterans, Community, and Youth! It takes a lot of hands to make a Legion Post work. If you are at all able to get just a little more involved, it would make our service to the community a lot more enjoyable.

The next floor meeting is August 8th at 6:00pm. It would be great to see you all there! I have also attached what is unfilled as spots on the Beef Days volunteer roster. Beef Days is the Legion’s biggest fundraiser of the year, and the area we need help at the most is the Raffle Tent. The roster is at the bar, you can stop in and sign up, or just reply to this email, and I’ll make sure it gets in.

Again, I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as your Commander, and look forward to working with you to make this a successful year!

Sincerely,

Adam Hopp
